 Deanna Nibbs, LCSW Founder

Deanna Nibbs is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting adults through life’s most challenging seasons. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California School of Social Work, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based and compassionate clinical care.

Throughout her career, Deanna has worked in a variety of medical and behavioral health settings, giving her a deep understanding of how emotional health, physical health, and life experiences intersect.

Her professional experience includes work in:

• Emergency care with the Department of Veterans Affairs, supporting veterans during moments of acute stress and crisis
• Laguna Treatment Hospital, working with individuals navigating addiction and recovery
• Hospice and end-of-life care, &  Home health services.

These experiences have shaped Deanna’s ability to meet people with steadiness, respect, and a deep appreciation for the resilience individuals carry.

She has particular experience supporting:

• First responders
• Active duty military members and veterans
• Adults navigating anxiety, stress, and life transitions
• Couples seeking stronger communication and connection
• Individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period

Deanna’s approach to therapy is calm, collaborative, and practical. She believes therapy should be a place where people can slow down, reflect on their experiences, and begin to understand patterns that may be affecting their relationships, emotions, and sense of wellbeing.

She focuses on helping clients build greater stability, emotional awareness, and connection in their lives.

Deanna is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process difficult experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming or intrusive in the present.

Through her work at Sage Elephant Counseling, Deanna strives to create a space where people feel supported enough to talk about what has been hard to carry alone.
